Conference History

A Rising Force in Mid-Major Baseball

The Big South Conference has grown into one of the most competitive mid-major baseball leagues in the country. Founded in 1983, the conference has consistently sent teams to the NCAA Tournament and produced professional talent at every level.

Campbell University has emerged as the conference's flagship baseball program, winning multiple consecutive conference titles and making deep runs in NCAA Regional play. The Fighting Camels have established themselves as a team that Power Five programs take seriously in non-conference matchups.

Other programs like Winthrop, High Point, and UNC Asheville have built competitive programs that regularly challenge for conference supremacy. The Big South's geographic concentration across the Carolinas and Virginia creates natural rivalries and passionate fan bases.
