Conference History

The Gulf Coast Pipeline

The Southland Conference has long served as a proving ground for baseball talent in Texas and Louisiana. With programs spanning from Corpus Christi to New Orleans, the conference benefits from year-round baseball weather and a deep well of high school talent from two of America's most baseball-rich states.

Programs like McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana, and Northwestern State have built strong regional followings and produced numerous professional players. The conference's geographic concentration creates natural rivalries and intense competition for conference supremacy each spring.
