Data Collection Methodology

Our Process

  1. API Integration: Direct connections to official sports data providers with authentication
  2. Real-time Ingestion: Games are fetched during live action with 30-60s update intervals
  3. Validation: Cross-check scores against multiple sources (MLB.com, ESPN.com, official league sites)
  4. Storage: Structured data stored in Cloudflare D1 with full game metadata and timestamps
  5. Quality Assurance: Manual spot-checks against broadcast results to verify accuracy

All timestamps are recorded in America/Chicago timezone. Data retention: 2024-2025 seasons with historical archives planned.
