Evidence required for publication
wOBA, wRC+, FIP, xFIP, OPS+
- wOBA: The run values behind it were built for pro ball and have not been re-checked against college scoring.
- wRC+: Was shown in headlines without a plain-English translation or a defensible college-level scale.
- FIP: Its league-wide baselines and home-run rates have not been re-checked for Division I play.
- xFIP: Built on top of FIP, which itself is not validated for college play yet.
- OPS+: Its league and ballpark adjustments are not verified for college yet.
Required for each metric:
- Named source data feed
- Exact formula published on /methodology
- College-level (not MLB) constants and level-of-play fit
- Minimum sample size stated wherever the number renders
- Update cadence shown from real metadata, not copy
- Plain-English glossary entry linked next to every appearance
