PER— Player Efficiency Rating

John Hollinger's all-in-one metric normalizing a player's per-minute production. League average is 15.0. Anything above 20 is All-Star caliber; above 25 is MVP-tier.

TS%— True Shooting Percentage

Measures scoring efficiency by accounting for 2-pointers, 3-pointers, and free throws. The league average hovers around 57%. It exposes volume scorers who need 25 shots to get 25 points.

USG%— Usage Rate

Estimates the percentage of team possessions a player uses while on the floor. High usage (30%+) means the offense runs through that player — for better or worse.

RAPTOR— Robust Algorithm using Player Tracking and On/Off Ratings

FiveThirtyEight's catch-all metric combining box score, on/off data, and tracking. Measured in points above average per 100 possessions. Splits into offensive and defensive components.
