Cal Poly arrives rested with its rotation lined up. If WVU’s starters are sharp on three days of reset, home-field and Gavin Kelly’s bat tilt it. If the bullpen is gassed, the Mustangs are the most dangerous fresh team left.
The bracket is treating Cal Poly as the feel-good visitor. The data says the Mustangs are the more rested, more rotation-aligned team, with a regional staff ERA (1.33) that nobody in this series can match. West Virginia is the better roster on paper and at home. But the team that didn’t have to play on Monday usually has the edge by Sunday.
